Help identifying a connector

Greetings everyone.
On my 1984 3.2 Carrera, I recently came across a little debris in the engine bay. Turns out it's some degraded insulator plastic or rubber from this connector. Can anyone tell me what it's for? I re-connected the male/female end and is now being held together with a zip tie.

I thought it might be for the oxygen sensor, but my Bentley manual shows that to be a three-prong connector.

Yep,

That is the O2 sensor. They changed to the 3 pin connector in late 85.

Kroon make a new plug if you wantto keep it orig

Perfect - thanks.
I'll see if I can't find the Kroon connector.

I've discovered that a bunch of these older rubber/plastic bits have become very brittle/crumbly. To be expected after 36 years of engine heat, etc.
