Hey everyone,

Doing some detailing and hopefully some problem solving too. I want to do some engine degreasing. Are there electronics under the engine shroud that should not get wet? Is there potential for debris/gunk to build up behind the fan/under the shroud that would decrease air flow?

Beside the alternator, there aren’t any electronic items under the hood.

Yes, under the shroud is a notorious place for rodents to build nests clogging up the cooling fins on the cylinders.

Oil and dust can also coat the cooling fins under the shroud reducing the cooling ability.

mostly deep in the back where the triangle of death leaks and oil cooler are. you can see better by removing the plates on the sides where the heater pipes come out
