Does anyone know if the part number for a warm up regulator on a European Spec 1979 911SC is different than a US Spec'd car?
I took my WUR off and it is listed as 0 438 140 (in raised letters) with 069 stamped at the end. I am assuming the full part number is 0 438 140 069. It also has "France" listed on the top with a "916" stamped next to the "Bosch". I just talked to a guy at Pelican and I was told there is no 0 438 140 069 in the Bosch book. I really don't know if my car is European spec'd but the guy at Pelican told me to check with a dealer. I haven't heard back from them yet. I was told that the part number for a 1978-1979 911SC was 0 438 140 045. So my real question is whether the 0 438 140 045 will work if my car is actually European? Also, has anyone heard of the 0 438 140 069 and is it even the right one for my car? Thanks, Tim

WUR for 78-79, (not at home so can't be 100%)
Bosch PN: 0 438 140 045 Porsche PN: 911 110 176 105 09 CIS was used on other brands of cars, so a PO might have sourced the WUR from a different brand of car. They all have the same operating theory approximately, so it is possible that that the 069 could have belonged to something not a 911. |

In Bentley (page 240-14) they state that from start of production in 1978 to December of 1978 Porsche used 0 438 140 045 on their 911's. From Jan 1979 to August 1979 they use 0 438 140 069. The pressure warm-up curve for the 069 is steeper than the 045. Besides the difference in the curve are these two interchangeable?
I guess it doesn't matter if it is European or US just when it was manufactured.
