Horsepower & Torque

My 1977 911s had a recent engine rebuilt with new New Chain Tensioners plus new SSI's & muffler. Does this add Horsepower & Torque? Or just make the car a bit quicker by removing the smog system the car had originally. The car was owned by a engineer who close to 40 years. He kept a complete library on servicing the car all these years. Here is a link on one of the binders he kept on the engine rebuild.

Thanks

Sam

Keeping the Ferrari sticker on the side has to be good for a few extra horses!

Basically what you have done is backdate to the '74 specs. The '74 S was rated at 175 hp and the '77 was rated at 165. So you may have added 10 HP. BTW if you have a sport muffler those can be worth another 10 HP over the stock one.

Thanks good to know about adding the sports muffler! But similar HP now without the sports muffler to a 68/69 911s

the new SSI's & muffler will be a lot happier with different cams and induction - that is where you can pick up some pow-pow
