fastener for cover cross panel '78 SC

The PET Illustration 803-00 notes it as item 21.
Picture to follow.

Anyway, are the fasteners for this the same as the ones for the badges? Sure a pain, as I can't get them to attach. Looked for some vacuum hose with small enough diameter to work, can't find any that small. Might resort to JB weld some how.

Any suggested methods?

From what I recall, they are small hats that fit on the end of the little stubs of #21 and press directly into the body.
Others may correct me.
I would just use a little gumbo on the stubs.
Cheers,
Johan

Yes,

I've tried to get these to work with no success, can't get at them easily, maybe the ones I tried are to old and hard? Might try new ones. Looking for other ideas, not sure what gumbo is?

Just went through it yesterday. The studs aren't long enough for those fasteners.
The later ones used the flat push on clips so I pulled some off the shelf.
I'll try for pics later

Also try cutting off all of the black goo on the back of the speed nuts. The ones I bought from Porsche were hard as rocks and useless until I did that.

Gumbo is more of a Canadian thing..........you guys call it DumDum or such.
Jonny042 and group911 have the right solutions for you.

Johnny,

Cutting to goo off those pesky Porsche speed nuts (especially putting them in upside down!) seems to be the ticket so far.
Thanks to all for the help.
