1982 911sc Intermittent Wiper Issue

My intermittent wiper switch is working but the wipers only move at one speed no matter how much or little the wiper switch is turned. Just replaced the switch (potentiometer) and still the same thing, only one speed. Any suggestions?

yup, one speed. the potentiometer just increases or decreases the interval.

Sorry, let me clarify. There are no changes in the interval.

Does your wiper park properly when switched off? If not, it could be dirty contacts or a relay problem. Also, do note that the intermittent function should only run when the wiper switch (stalk) is switched to the off position.

+1. Wipers must be turned off (park) before the intermittant switch works. If your wipers don't park themselves when you turn them off, you need to clean the contact on the switch in the stalk. The park function must work for the intermittant function to work.

Yes, the wipers park correctly and i have the wipers off when I turn the intermittent switch on. There is no interval change no matter where on the intermittent dial I turn it. I think I am going to see if replacing the relay works.

Did they ever work? Reason I ask is to make sure the appropriate wires are connected to the appropriate locations on potentiometer, I too will need to replace mine soon & would love a scematic for wire connection location

The wiring for the potentiometer is as follows: Black wire to post 15B on the pot, Red/Yel wire to post 15A on the pot, & Red wire to post 15 on the pot.

Hi There:
My 1978 911sc intermittent wipers has exactly the same symptoms that you described here. Wipers park, and run at 3 speeds using the stalk control. On intermittent operation, the wipers turn on and run, but there is no intermittent time delay at all regardless of the setting on the knob. I just wondered, did you solve this and if so what was the solution?
Thanks very much
