Whats This? - CIS Fuel Distrib. Valve Kit

While gathering CIS replacement items, I came across the following:

Fuel Dist Valve Kit K-Jet PshVlv

Is this a common ware item that should be considered for replacement while the CIS is out? Looks to come with shims, possibly for adjustability. May have my hands full with this R&R.

Thoughts?

I believe that this is the pressure regulator in the fuel distributor. I check my fuel pressure by removing the allen plug and screwing in a pressure gauge. If your fuel pressure is good, I would think just changing the o-ring would be enough. Just a few thoughts until someone more experienced chimes in.

The shims regulate the system pressure.
One shim = 0.4 - 0.5 Bar

Thanks guys......

My CIS (knock on wood) has been trouble free since I bought the car. While its out of the car, thought I'd replace some common trouble items while I have the opportunity. These don't sound like common trouble or ware items to me. At least on mine, I have no leaks from the valves (so far) and no CIS issues that could be traced to system pressure. I'll just leave well enough alone w/ these.

Thanks again.....

When I rebuilt my engine I cleaned up the fuel distributor as much as I could and I pulled the pressure regulator and cleaned everthing with fuel injector cleaner. I did not have problems with the injection systems so I did not replace anything just made it look pretty.

I didn't think I had any trouble with my CIS system either? Until I put a gauge on it and found the regulator wasn't holding the pressure after shut off; which causes restart or cold start blues.

I replaced the fuel regulator completely. Anyone having starting troubles should test their fuel pressure. These CIS systems are major complicated, but I'm a learning?
