Reverse gear pin

Hell,

I wonder if somebody helps and sends me the part number of the reverse gear pin rod (red arrow)?

My reverse lights work sometimes, which means there is no problem with the sensor.

I reckon that the pin rod is worn out and not working properly.

My car is a 1987 Carrera.

Thank you very much.

Fahad

The item you are pointing to is the shift rod. The pin/tappet is behind the sensor that is just beside the shift rod. 915-303-145-00-OEM for the 915 trans. Not sure of PN for G50 though.

The reverse light activator is under the yellow tab. Under the yellow unit is a pin to activate the reverse light when reverse is engaged.
The trans in picture is a 915, not a G50 for 87 model

Thank you very much, indeed pampadori and Flat6pac for your invaluable guidance.

In regards to the pin/tappet Part# 915-303-145-00-OEM, the part suitable for the G50 transmission is Part#95030324001 under the name: cam follower.
I've confirmed that from the Porsche PET catalogue Year 1989 (illustration 302-05) part#37
And for the reverse light activator, I found it in the same catalogue number 38, and Part#91461354102 under the name:back-up light switch

As I recall, the G50 backup switch is on the side of the case
Correct, called cam follower. It’s the pin. 950.303.240.01

Fixed!

Hello again,

Here is the latest update.

I have found that the pins were OK.
The problem was that the back-up light switch Part#91461354102 has burnt off and the wires have fallen down (photo).
I replaced the switch and soldered the wires (photos)
Thanks for your help and support.

Fahad

glad you got it solved Doc911! I actually had a similar failure on my wiring for the reverse switch when i first got my 911 about 5 years ago. I guess the wiring doesn't age well.
