Cracked Fan + Hub + Coupler

Hi all!

It happened to me - alternator bearing turned to dust and left me stranded on the side of the road. I had to tow it to a dealer because it was 20 miles away and I was 100 miles from home, so unfortunately I'm not able to do the work myself... in the process of replacing the alternator the dealer discovered that the fan, hub, and coupler have cracks. Pictures below.

I have told them to put it back together for now because the parts from Porsche Classic take a few weeks to get and are super expensive. They aren't fully separated and still feel quite solid (per the Porsche tech) but I would love some advice:

1) Think I am alright putting it back together and dealing with it later?
2) Could this eventually cause a catastrophic failure? ie. should I deal with this in the next few weeks or is a few months alright?
3) Does anyone know the part numbers?
4) Does anyone know of good aftermarket parts for this?

Thanks all!

I weld these all the time. I have done hundreds of them. Likely savable.

The fan's picture is not clear but the two straight lines goimg from front to the rear appear to be from the casting of the fan.

Edit
The fan blade tips might have been rubbing probably due to the bad bearings.

I would drive it home from the dealer not so sure about driving long term without repair or replacement.

Are the last two pictures different parts of the fan housing? I'm having a hard time finding any parts called a "coupler"

Also - I agree that I don't see any crack in the fan other than the potential blade edges.

Does anyone have any feedback on how urgent this issue might be? Thanks!

Those pictures are almost comically bad. Get better pictures and someone can comment. The first two look fine, may not be an issue. The crack in the housing isn't great but if the other alternator supports are solid, and the fan will spin without hitting the housing, it's fine. Until you hear the fan hitting the housing.

Does that help?

Just don't get the belt so tight it pulls the fan down against the housing. Fine line there.
