Hi everyone, I've found this car and I'm trying to see if it's an honest car or not? I'm a little confused by the numbers:
1970 911T Targa 9110112405 Engine SN:6109562* Engine type: 911/07 From what I've researched it should be a type 01 not 07? What is 07? A sportmatic? Because it is currently a 5 speed. The engine seems to sequentially line up as original with the VIN, but I'm concerned it may have been a Sportmatic originally? Any help would be greatly appreciated. I just wanted to see if it's worth restoring because it has a few other issues that are correctable. Thanks! ![]() ![]() ![]() |

911/01 would be a '70 911E motor. 911/07 is US-spec '70 911T with manual transmission. Sportomatic for US was 911/08.

Thanks so much. What confused me is that the type 07 is listed on the USA Coupe not the Targa line. But I guess all US were either 07, or 08 Sportmatic??
Thanks for the quick reply. |
