The annual engine casting marks OR cracks post

So here it is.. I looked at a few older posts. Most of this looks like casting but I wanted second opinions,

Casting. I was alarmed at the SC block I cleaned up.

My latest one, a 3.2, looks quite a bit better I guess they re-did the moulds.

This one look just as bad as that one in person. I looked at a lot of cases that had the same casting marks.. but nonetheless they freak me out and look like cracks.

I bought an 84 Targa last year, and have been enjoying it. When winter hit, I put her on the lift and cleaned up the floor pan and washed the trans/engine case/etc that had probably 10 years of grime. My 84 trans has that exact casting mark, and I thought it was a crack until I saw this post. I'll post a pic of my trans, I thought that picture above was my trans because the casting marks are identical!
