gas pedal worn out? not recoiling enough to let off gas? 85 911

could it be that my gas pedal flexibility has worn out that it wont bend back into position and let off the gas? I am having a idling problem...I noticed that when it idles too high, I can reach down and pull up the gas pedal to stop it. Could also be a bushing problem right?

Or a missing spring, you should replace the bushings in all of the linkages and the pedals. Bronze bushings are all the rage to replace plastic ones.

Did you have to take the pedal assembly completely apart? did getting that Brass bushing out and replaced fix it? If so, How difficult was taking out that bushing?
Would like to fix this myself! Thanks

+1 on the throttle return springs (there are 2 on my car, not sure about other models). They break and can cause a floppy pedal.

What year is your car?
Are your pics showing what I have circled in red or yellow?
Think my problem is the yellow circled bushing
