shift rod support above or below tunnel?
 
This may well be a stupid question, but the back side of the shift rod support (holding the shift rod collar) , should that be between the shifter base and the tunnel, or below the tunnel? It's on a 86 targa.

Top of the tunnel, otherwise, how would you secure it?
