Gas pedal sticking... name or number this part
Anyone know the part number of bushing shown here? Could be what’s hanging-up my gas pedal. It stops the the gas from fully retracting I must tap the pedal to lower the idlehttp://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1598889608.jpg

I had problems with all three of my pedals. I removed the entire assembly and rebuilt it. You could probably just get away with replacing the bushings in the part that you circled.

Do your self a favor and send it to Bruce Stone to have it rebuilt

How much of the pedal would I have to take out? Spring has to come off?...not sure Ill get the spring back on |
It’s worth looking at the whole end to end accelerator mechanism as there are several areas that can affect this. The pedal assembly, a shaft on the side of the gearbox and a housing that sits on the top of the engine which has bushes that wear and affect the smoothness.

Putting a little grease at all connections/ pivot points will do wonders. Make sure the linkage doesn't contact the engine tin anywhere. Check the return spring

I just changed my 2 bushings with copper. Its easy. Pull that cotter pin out and just slide to right.

My car is a 1988 3.2 so yours is a little different. I would first order the bushings before you take it apart. I used brass as they were about the same price. The bushings in my throttle crumbled into pieces when I took it apart. Just pull the cotter pin and replace the bushings and clean and grease everything. It is easy to pull the rod ends, you just have to remove the spring clips and the rod end pops off, clean and grease. You should do the same underneath the car. The linkage is attached to the transmission, same idea, clean and grease. Be careful, when I did that I tweaked the linkage and it rubbed against the manifold causing the throttle pedal to stick, just like what you are experiencing....

Is your linkage going from transmission to carburetors straight or curved?

Is the first picture under the console or can I get to everything from the side without having to remove the entire console?

That first picture is at the very front of the tunnel, in front of the console, which you don't have to remove. It's still a bit of a pain to access, as you have to bury your head and hands down in there.
