LED 911 R Tail Lights: Almost there.

Hey team Pelican Parts,

I wanted to share a bit of my progress on a project I've been undertaking. 6 months, 3 prototypes, 2 3D scans, and countless hours led me to this point. I'm finally close to finishing my modern R style tail lights.

Check this out (you can flip through this and see many different images/videos):

<blockquote class="imgur-embed-pub" lang="en" data-id="a/NucGX8H" ><a href="//imgur.com/a/NucGX8H">Lauern Teile Modern 911 R Tail Lights</a></blockquote><script async src="//s.imgur.com/min/embed.js" charset="utf-8"></script>

You’ll see me test turn, reverse, F1 flash brake lights. They’re so bright it’s hard to get it captured on camera.

The fitment is almost perfect, but I'm unsure if they're not juuuust right because my car was narrow body made wide, or if the design is off.

I'll be making these available in some way shape or form under a company I'm soon launching named Lauern Teile - just need to confirm fitment and send off to production or do one last minor adjustment to design and get functional prototypes made again.

Hope you enjoy :)

When I click on your link I went to “page not found”. Was the page removed?

I`d take them! When are they gonna be available and how much?

I hope the fit is better than most R lights out there, mine aren’t too good and the gaps really annoy. Quite interested.

Nice work - the F1 brake light innovation is nice to see - alerting drivers behind me is a concern since light tech from 1974 not as bright/noticeable. Also interested when these are FS. Good luck!

Hey there, it’s showing up on my side. Not sure if you’re running into some odd issue but it seems to be visible to everyone else.

They should fit like a glove! 3D scans really helped dial it in. https://i.imgur.com/oxVyneX_d.jpg?ma...idelity=medium

Ps - this is not the final design. This was an earlier iteration to illustrate some of the process

That's pretty nice. Will they be available soon?

Nice, Nick!

EDIT: never mind, he was probably referring to the Imgur link, which works just fine for me, as well...

Its in the works, but I gotta send them out to get 3D scanned then find a local 964 to do test fitting with! Gotta make some R&D money on this first batch of tail lights sold.

Very cool

do you have video of the lights at night/day and the level of brightness change upon applying brakes?

No daytime yet, can do tomorrow. For night time, look at the first video I posted and you’ll see brake lights go on at the very end.

The LED rings stay constantly on, at end of first video, you’ll see the brake light flash rapidly then constant on like an F1 style light (imagine holding brake lightly then stomping on the brake applying constant pressure).
