Front hood latch adjust method
 

Is there a method to tell when the hood latch is in proper position?
I sourced one and installed it and the hood closed and opened. Then on the first drive, the hood popped open and when I closed it, it would not open. I managed to get it finally by prying some force under the hood and it finally popped open (whew).

I see now latch assembly can slide up and down with the allen bolts. I moved it closer to the ground, thinking this is what I need. Just wonder if there is a method to determine if it is aligned correctly before I need to saw a hole in my freshly painted trunk.
