new tires for my 1987 911
Happy Labor Day Weekend all-
I did a search on RennList and Pelican and found some suggestions but unfortunately, nothing that would work for me. My car currently runs Bridgestone Potenza RE-11 that the prev owner put on and I do like them but they are around 6 yrs old and so I think I should replace them. Size is front 205/55/R16 and rear 245/45/R16. When I did a search on TireRack, the only tires that came up are: Yokohama A052 which the TireRack advisor says is best match to my current tires Yokohama A008P Pirelli P Zero Rosso and Trofeo R and Cinturato P7 Does anyone have any experience or input to these or others that may fit my rims; I do not know exact size of the rims but they are date coded 1983 for what it's worth. I am looking for summer tires as I am in AZ; I don't mind changing sizes if that is best. Thanks |

Why don't you start taking the rims off and telling us the size of them.
That will help helping you. |

Rear rim width is important, as it determines rear tire size options
You should find both part numbers and size stamped on the inside of the pedals 16x9 rims can only fit the 245/45-16 tires you reference above, while 16x8 or 16x7 will also fit 225/50-16 tires, which opens a lot more options |

Folks that run track seem to like the 052s and the Trofeo R just fine. They will wear out very quickly though.
RE71R are stellar, but probably won't put up with track use in the widths you can run unless you have put your car on a diet.
