metal slivers on 915 drain plug: how much is ok?

This is how my plug looks like on my just bought 911 1986 targa.
Is this
1. Terrible?
2. Bad?
3. Normal?

I leave out other options like 'fine' or 'good' , cause in my mind it never feels right to see metal slivers . No clue how many miles it ran on last oil change.

Shifting is better than I feared after having read about the 'character' of this transmission.

How long since your last fluid change. At any rate, I wouldn't be concerned if your satisfied with the way it shifts. Just continue to drive it.

Thats normal. Actually better than normal. When you see chunks is when you should be concerned

pretty inhabited. clean the magnet, put some good gear oil in it and run it for 5k miles and take another look at it. send a sample out then for analysis to see what's in it that is not sticking to the magnet. how did the gear lube look? did it seem old? walking with a cane or anything like that?

if it's shifting good you are in pretty good shape.

If you wipe ofF the particles with a tissue you will hopefully find they are far smaller that they look on the magnet, which does tend to lump them up into seemingly bigger pieces. If this is the case just change your oil and keep going
