Clutch pedal went to the floor cable not broken
Driving the 82sc the other day I stepped on the clutch and BAM to the floor. Of course I ordered a new cable and it arrived yesterday. Disconnected the cable from the trans then went to the drivers side removed the pedal board and low and behold the cable was intact. The clevis had spread apart so far that it pulled off the clutch pedal bracket. Working on these cars for 30+ years I never saw that before!
I'm thinking it may have happened because I installed a heavy duty pressure plate. |

Don't know how long since the cable was last replaced. The clevis didn't break it flared out like a Y to the point where the pin fell out of the hole on the clutch pedal arm.

I mean it only lasted 38 years, what the hell. I should get a warranty.
