Door seal pushing door out
All original car, the back edge of the driver's door sits a few mm proud of the quarter panel and I can fairly easily push it flush.
It seems like the door seal is pushing the door out so I'm assuming it has been replaced at some point. Is it possible that the seal was incorrectly installed? Is there a way to make the door sit flush without messing with the hinges or striker plate?

Don't fear the striker plate...an easy adjustment. You can always do a tape line on its vertical and horizontal plane to keep the original position, and then make an adjustment...you need to move the striker plate in a bit towards the interior of the car.

The door latch may only be engaging the first catch. This would allow you to push the door inward a bit, creating the feeling that the striker needs to be moved inward. Make sure you're engaging the first and second catch before deciding which way to adjust, if at all.
New seals often do this, and just need to be compressed a bit.

same thing on two of my 911's , the door seal is contacting the front lip of the door and adding resistance to the door close . I live with it
