Carrera decal search or picture
I am looking for the large 911 hood decal that came on a handfull of 74 911 Carreras. You know the one I'm talking about? I have seen several Carrera script side decals offered. does anyone at least have a photo they can post so I have something to start from? I can't totally remember how it looks, but it covers most of the hood.

i'm sure there is a picture in the factory brochure that also shows the ATS cookie cutter wheels in the cool optional colors. here is a cool pic from a (factory) Porsche drivers ed school in 1974. you can see the decal fits down into the 'valley' of the sculpted hood.

These are the infamous "safety" stripes. I've never heard of anyone actually wanting these on their car? I have a friend with a 74US Carrera that ditched them when he had his car repainted. It's possible there is a factory part no. and that they are still available?

Ya, gotta have 'em. My car is an 82. I am doing everything that was available on the 74 Carrera. An 82 Red Targa is just too damn predictable!

Derek, Just a question. Why wouldn't you buy a 1974 Carrera US or Euro and spend money on the engine upgrades to fix the documented problems with the mag case?
I for one really like the 74/75 Carrera, but I am biased. See Ya.

Mark, I found a sweet 82 for the right price. I am partial to the creature compforts and 3.0. I would rather have fun with the cosmetics than upgrading the motor, brakes, steering, cooling, etc., etc... Don't get me wrong, I love the 74 Carrera, It's just a lot cheaper this way, not to mention easier to find in good shape.

Just in case Mike can't do them, try Kim that did my vintage decals. She is a Porsche nut and owns/races an early RSR and has lots of books and early photos for research. See this thread:

The style of the 911 script and stripes are so 70's period correct!! I really like the Carrera script down the side of the doors I'm tempted to put them on my car, maybe if they were available in silver but it wouldn't be correct for an SC.

Ok, I've reviewed some of the older threads and still haven't determined if it is taboo to put the Carrera script on a SC or pre-1984 911? Or should it be left to personal taste?
They never made a SUPER CARRERA script. What are some of your opinions out there?

Harlan,
My opinion? Do your thing man. Some one has a signature that reads" They laughed at me because I was different, I laughed at them because they were all the same." It's all a matter of perspective.
