about every brake manufacturer offer pads for the early 911, may it be M or A calipers.
make your choice.

mostly same brand for disk and pad work well together if you don't want to go the long way testing (fooling) around for combos.

ATE in general is no brainer.

Was ATE an original supplier? Agreed to match disc and pad manufacturer. Our 1975 911S will only be on the street, but I have always liked good brakes.
thanks

The Factory put Textar or Jurid on the cars from the factory. Good everyday pad.

Lots of more aggressive choices out there if you need them. What is your driving style?

Our '75 911S will be used for spirited street use only. She is a low mileage rust free example with a rebuilt 3.0. My inclination is to go with stock and replace calipers/rotors/pads for as close to a factory performance.

Good plan. If you find the brakes unsatisfactory, you can always easily upgrade your Pads. I recommend thyme you flush your brake fluid annually as well.

While not expert, sure looks like a Stock Steel ATE Caliper. Is it magnetic? The car came with M Steel Calipers and Aluminum S Calipers.

Thanks Harry, i am assuming they are stock but am confused by the designations of A versus M types and if that influences the choice of brake pads i need to order?

I think the 74 S came with the aluminum S calipers, but the US 75 S came with steel A calipers in front on 3" centers. The Aluminum S calipers are 3.5" centers. I'm not sure what the Carrera came with.

Here are mine after the fresh PMB treatment.

Also I think the MY75 was split for brakes. The first half of MY75 being a different front caliper like the 74 (but not the S).

There were also two strut/spindle options and 3 shock options. Koni (red with 3.5 centers brake caliper spindle), Boge (black with 3" spacing) and Bilstein (green with 3.5" spacing)

They were all steel front and rear calipers to my knowledge in 75, I think even on the US Carrera which was primarily a stickers/flares/tires upgrade.

going off memory here, but if you check the Redbook, it should cover in detail.

An idea. Pull the pads and see if you Can find a manufacturer name and model number. Use that to cross reference.
