Front suspension overhaul Question

I am going to perform a front suspension refresh this weekend. Planning on replacing:

F&R control arm bushings
Turbo tie rod kit
Ball joints
Sway bar bushings
Shocks were recently replaced with billys.

I am following several DIYs posted here on the forums as well as some youtube videos but my question is... Do I NEED to remove the brakes/rotors to do this job? I have seen some DIYs where they are removed and others where they are left on.

I would prefer to not have to do another removal and bleed - I just replaced the brakes/rotors about 600 miles ago.

I stared a bit longer... that looks like a hydraulic lift of some sort. that would make this easier!

when tilting the strut outward to be able to pull the shock(insert) it can be that the brake line itself is a tad too short to allow full outward movement of the strut to clear the top fender edge.

you'll find out and know then.

happened to me once.

now I made my own custom detachable version of a brake hose.

I know what you mean, it was tight.

I already replaced the struts on it. So I shouldn’t need to pull them to do the A arm removal, ball joint, tie rods?.. right?

I find it easiest to drop the whole front end out of the car, but you are correct, you could leave the brakes connected and just remove the ball joints and tie rod ends from the struts.

That’s my plan.

I’m going to drop out everything at once, but plan on leaving the struts/brakes in place.

It looks easiest to crack the large ball joint nut with everything still on the car.

I may also regrease the steering rack but I need to test for some play in the steering before I go through that.
