3.2 Carrera US headlight trim loose. Fix?

Hi all

One of the headlight trim rings, the color-coded outer ring, on my 85 Carrera is screwed in at the bottom, but the top lip won't stay on so it flaps forward. I see the rubber gasket (ring) between the fender and headlight trim is separated...I'm hoping a new ring will help -- but is this a common issue? Any fix? It seems like the top lip on the inside of the ring won't engage on the fender's window opening lip once I tighten down the screw on the bottom.

Thanks for any thoughts
Mark

Thanks.
Man...I think the lip on the top of my fender isn't as big as in some of those pictures. Maybe the P.O. messed it up. Could also be that mine has a "clip-on captive nut" on the screw hole on the bottom - looks like the original soldered on nut is long gone.

1988 3.2 This is a major pain, I would like to clean one of my reflectors but I won't remove the ring because it always takes ages to get it to latch and get that stupid screw in there. Some one should take pity on us and fabricate some gaskets with a slightly smaller diameter.
