There were 528 U.S. Carrera coupes produced for 1974.

Seems like the real deal. This one won't be cheap. Those seats look pretty standard faire for a Carrera. Didn't the Carrera have sport seats like in a turbo?

Further input on the Fram: In a recent Excellence, last month's maybe, in B.A.'s technical questions column, he explains how a Fram may have indeed contributed to some guy frying his engine.

It has webers... with a little luck, maybe the owners kept the original injection in a box. Did the US '74 Carrera come with MFI or CIS?

NeilK,
Only the '74 Euro Carrera had the MFI. All '74 US 911's came with CIS. The basic 911 (mine) has 8.0:1 compression. The 'S' and Carerra share the same engine with 'S' cams and 8.5:1 compression. The Carrera is really a Carrera in dress only. It does have a few suspension parts that exceed the others, however, like a cross member if memory serves me right. Ryan

The description says the 2.7 was built up to RS specs. As for the Fram oil filter, I haven't heard that, but I'd definitely have a compression check etc. done on the motor during the PPI. This sort of car definitely needs a PPI, because of its "modified" engine.
He probably bought it as a U.S. Carrera - 167 hp CIS engine, but probably with an 11-blade fan and '74 exhaust. It still seems like a good little car. Remember, it has the 7.31 R/P which will make it fast no matter what engine it has in it.

Eurogroup 1 unresponsive....
I emailed Eurogroup 1 with questions relative to this topic and have yet to hear back from them; basic questions like build sheet information, builder, and machine shop. If the seller is unresponsive to basic inquiries such as these then I have my doubts and must pass on the item. Nice looking car and the reserve seemed low.

If this car is truly RS spec, then it has "S" cams which are way different than "CIS" cams I'm pretty sure. The CIS injection system wouldn't work with the type of valve lift/overlap that "S" cams produce. Excepting the "Fram" filter, looks like a neat car, which will definitely be fast (combination low weight, 7:31 R&P and RS spec motor). I'd rather have the MFI injection vs. carbs, but that's just me; this might work well for someone. Certainly is a sharp looking car with the red graphics. I don't believe these early US Carreras came with sport seats. My 75 doesn't have them, and a friends 74 didn't either.
