wheels/tires for a narrow 911

Does anyone know which wheels are on pwd72s' car in the second post of the attached thread (green car w/o stripes)? They look like 15X7. What is the max tire that would fit on those rims on a narrow-bodied (1971 911T) car?

Porsche Stripe Opinions...

I have also e-mailed pwd72s.

Thanks

I would say a 16x7 would be the max...thats with a 215.60.16 tire and some camber.

Just read in excellence that Bruce doesn't recomend anything wider than a 6" on the early body cars, either 15 or 16 diameter. The only exception he lists is the 15x7 from the Carrera RS, proper offset to still fit with no issues!

Pwd72s has late offset 7x15 all around. I think he's running 195/65.

We have 215/60x15 tires on late offset 7" rear wheels on our narrow-bodied 73E. It requires additional negative camber to prevent rubbing.

Thanks. Does anyone know if 205/55s will fit on late offset 15X7s? I guess they should if 215/60s fit. It's my wife's car (911T) and it has the chrome trim around the fenders. She wants to keep the chrome trim, so I am not sure whether fender rolling will work.

BTW Lew, we have the chrome wheel opening trim, too. The right rear rubs slightly under hard cornering with -1° negative camber. I'm planning on adding a little more negative camber.

Lewis:

205-55-15s should work fine on 15x7s. My next tire will either be a 55 or 50 series. Currently I have 60 series.

Also, narrow body 911s can fit 15x7 rims. In some cases, the fender lips need to be rolled. I have a narrow-body 911 and have been running 15x7s with no problem for a while.
