steering lock, ig. switch 72 E

Alright, I let my wife drive the car for the first time unsupervised and the ignition switch takes a dump. Now the car is stuck at work. I pulled the bezel off and removed the two screws that hold the switch in place. It doesn't want to be set free from the column however. Is there another screw I'm forgetting or do I just need a little forceful giggling to set it free?

By the way, anyone have a nice used ig. switch for a 72?

Thanks guys

There is an allen bolt holding it in place. In the meantime, if you can get the electrical portion of the switch off, you can use a screwdriver to start the car.

Yep, read the archives, found the set screw. I got it push started and drove it home where the tools are and did get the switch out. The flat pin from the key portion just broke off. So I guess I need the whole switch. Meantime I am just using the screwdriver to get to work and back.

It is just funny that when i finally got my wife to drive the car, convinced her all would be fine, it BROKE on her. And I know its not her fault, its just a 30 year old piece of zinc alloy.

Funn
