euro H4 questions

Hi everyone.

I just purchased a set of chrome euro h4's for my 911 and I have a couple of questions.

1. Are the adjustment screws supposed to be slotted?

2. why is there a small bulb below the H4 bulb?

Can anyone show me a close up picture of yours so I can be sure I have all the right stuff? I bought these off the dreaded EBAY, but they were considerably cheaper for me this way and I am working with Canadian dollars here!

Thanks!

Reg

Hi Reg
- I suspect the small light below the H4 bulb is the parking light seen in Europe. Small bulb, low draw, just enought light to 'glow' and show a parked car on the side of the road.
- No idea on the slotted screws.

Regards,
Andrew M

Reg,
I have the Euro H4's and yes that little bulb is for parking light. I believe the '73 or '74 (not sure on the year) did actually use it. I have a total of three screws on mine one slotted and two philips. The sloted is the mounting screw and the two philips are for aiming. Also, check to see if you have three little nubs sticking out of the front of the lense. If there is then you have DOT not Euro spec H4's.

Thanks for the comments Tom, Andrew.

Mine have a phillips that holds them in and two slotted to adjust them. I have them installed and they look nice!

I do not have a wire for the smaller bulbs. I suppose they would look nice at dusk.

One thing though, my rubber boots that go over the connections do not fit over this parking bulb. Should the boots have been included in the yellow Bosch boxes, or does one buy them seperate?

If I remember correctly the mine have a phillips mounting screw at the bottom of the chrome ring and the adjusters are slotted screws. In Europe the smaller bulbs are for what's called "city lights" some guys here have wired them for DRL's (daytime running lights). I strongly suggest you also install relays to power your new H4's (unless you've already done so).
