Interior Dome Light Wiring

I tried to install new wiring for the interior dome lights and ran into a snag. The wiring runs from the roof down the passenger side A-pillar and into the front trunk area to connect to the main harness. I managed to snake a long stiff wire up from the trunk into the A-pillar, and connect it to the wiring, but I can't seem to pull it back down. It seems to get stuck at the bend in the top of the A-pillar, as if the wiring and connectors are too wide. Anyone know of any tricks or tips?

Jason... if snake's end has any config similar to a hook / barb---even a small one---that may be what's getting caught up. Or perhaps when wire is attached to snake there's a bulb'd area that's too fat to make return trip. If there's a hook/barb, try to rotate wire. Perhaps that will allow hook to pass obstruction it's hanging up on. If no go, eliminate hook/barb or wrap with tape---but adding tape defeats recommended diet coming as next avenue. If there's a bulb'd area... give it a "diet." Can test passage diameter by wrapping wire with tape and progressively reducing amount of tape on wrap until it makes return trip successfully. Perhaps connectors have to go and be reinstalled once wire is snake'd.
