Front sway bar not attached/just hanging

Hi all Pelicans! My (new to me) 79SC arrived a couple weeks ago and I've finally had a chance to start looking it over. Not at all what the seller said it was.. Kinda looks like they used it for a parts car. Missing lots of parts and mickey mouse'd mechanically. The front sway bar is hanging down about 6 inches or so and not attached at the rear bushings. No belly pan or hardware to attach it. I have the 101 book already and I'm ordering the Bentley manual today to get started. Walt did send me some pictures as to how it should look (thanks Walt)! Anyways I intend to make the car right and ENJOY it. So, that being said I'm going to hang it this weekend and do a thorough inspection. It's gonna be a long list I'm sure. Bear with me, lots more questions to come Pelicans and thank you for your support. Kip

Sorry to hear that the seller misrepresented the car.

The good news is you've got some fun in working on it. Let's see some pictures.

Private seller or 'specialty house' sale.....

Was this a BAT purchase by chance?
I looked at two cars in person that were for sale on Bat and while the ad didn't necessarily misrepresent the car it certainly did not tell the entire story. It was clear to me after seeing the cars in person that I did not want to bid on them. Always thought to myself that whomever got those cars was going to be pretty disappointed when it showed up. Really dissuaded me from every buying a car sight unseen.

Bravo wareaglescott. We've seen our share of "misrepresented" cars from BAT. The problem is that the guys writing the description don't know the car, AT ALL. They take the customers description, kind of incorporate it with descriptions from the original dealer sales literature, and voila, a BAT sugar coated, un-inspected car. OY!
