Window Trim Removal

I have to blend some paint work on the top of the door and quarter and need to remove just the lower side window and quarter glass trim. Are there bolted in or do they pop in? or slide out? I can't seem to figure out how they are attached. Even if I can just raise them up 1mm would be ok. I really do not want to remove the windows if at all possible. Thank you for any info on this.

For the rear quarter window trim, you need to remove the quarter windows to find the screws that hold those pieces in. If those are pop-out quarter windows, the removing them should be fairly straightforward, there is no rubber trim to deal with, just the screws on the B-Pillar and the pop-out latches. Bit more if they are fixed, as the rubber trim can be a pain to seat, but the issues there are usually getting them back in, not out.

For the door trim, that should just pop out with the help of a credit card or similar plastic. Just be careful not to bend it. There are small metal or plastic (I've seen both) "expanders" that pop into holes in the door to hold it in place. Upward pressure on the expanders will allow them to pop out.

Good luck.

Thanks for the info Bill! Good news on the door but the rear windows are fixed. I'm assuming the inner panel gets removed then the rubber seal carefully pried over a metal lip from the inside and it will release the window outward. Then the "string in the groove" method to install it.

Hopefully the experts will chime in, I have not tried to remove the fixed quarters on my car, but yes, I think your description of the removal process is correct. On the install, I have seen quite a few threads detailing the process, trials and tribulations.
