Refurb black Fuch center caps (on the cheap)

The average cost to replace the four black center caps is around $160. The cheapest colored caps are around $180, the colored OEM are near $400. I have for along time wanted to have the colored crest on the wheel caps. so I opted to sand them down and re-spray them with 3M satin Black paint. Next, I used Testers paint with artisan brushes to paint the crest in gold and red . Up close they look like they were hand painted by an old guy but look really good from a six foot distance. I will need to redo the Black on each of the Fuchs at a later date. Sorry about the rotated pictures, that is not the way they were taken, must be an upload thing.

Center cap before refurb.

After refurb on an unfinished Fuch.

Side by side of the four center caps two have been redone. One of my caps must have been a replacement because it had two holes. I filled the holes with bondo so the four would look somewhat the same.

Six foot distance view, not bad for on the cheap.

I am inspired now. Was just about to search for who does the repaints professionally, but for the price of the testers paint and artisan brushes, I am willing to give it a go. Thanks for sharing and giving me the motivation to do it!
