Engine compartment clean up

When my engine was out for the gearbox work I had the fan and housing cerakoted and some of the hardware cleaned up. Not a concours engine bay but a big improvement over what it was!

The shop that did the service sent it for the cerakote finish. It was very inexpensive, $125 to do the fan and housing, $65 to zinc plate the fan hub, strap, and pulley, and $175 to powdercoat a few other pieces. It's not hard to find someone to do cerakote, most gunsmiths do it, as it's common on firearms.

Very snappy engine bay - as I just told a buddy of mine, my engine bay looks like the mens room of a flying J next to yours.

Did my fan and shroud this Spring when I had the alternator out for reconditioning. Used powder coat from a shop that knows about the issues with magnesium castings. They guarantee that coating won't come off due to the elaborate preparation. Didn't take the fan off of the hub...just coated both. Car is an '88 Carrera Coupe.
