997 Safari/Rally Livery
Here is a pic of my 997 rally/safari/daily winter driver. I can't begin to tell you how much fun, yet practical, this car is. (roof rack is off getting powdercoated for the inevitable home depot trips)
I'm considering going to a livery set in an effort to grab even more attention Anyone have some photos of a black 997 in an interesting livery? don't want to wrap the entire car but rather simply do a vinyl decal set. Thanks Vin ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Magnagrafik.com
Car-bone.pl Both have cool stuff. Worth a look for ideas.

Black Martini livery? I think there was a 936 painted like that. Or the 935 X-ray car? I'll try to find pics...

Also the Interscope cars:
![]() There are a couple more obscure black 935 liveries. Cars that may have run in that livery for one race/year.

Not air cooled vintage, but I’m fond of the Alex Jov Racing 2010 #23 battery tender patron 997 Cup Car.

suspension is pretty simple actually:
-custom coilovers front and rear to get 2 inches of extra travel -adjustable lower control arms to help get things aligned. -some simple custom parts to take car of sway bars -couple of brake mods to get everything to fit over my wheel choice (as opposed to getting an expensive set machined) -slightest bit of rubbing under suspension compression and full lock. I do stand the tires up (in keeping with most rally setups) as opposed to having a ton of camber like a track car. Running a built 3.8L at just under 400hp, so this car is a hoot when there is limited traction on snow and mud! |

I've been thinking of doing the same with another car (Mini Cooper S). Who did you work with on the coilovers? Can you elaborate on spring rates? To get 2 inches of travel did you have to add 4 inches of strut length?
These look cool but are worth more than the car!: https://flatoutsuspension.net/products/mini-gr40 ![]()

Ouch those are expensive!
I built my own coilovers, but I've got a huge machine shop at hand. I can share springrates on monday |

Thanks for all the PM's and questions.
Martini Livery it is. Getting designed next week and printed/cut shortly thereafter. Should be a fun look for a fun car. |
