1983 911sc wont start

Hi-

I'm hoping I can get some advice on my SC. Went out to drive this weekend the the engine would turnover, but not spark. While I've only had the car for 7-8 months, no known issues here (once this summer it started on a second attempt, but otherwise has always fired the first time). Ran perfectly during the ~100 miles I put on it last weekend. I tested the battery and the meter read 12.6, so I think the battery is ok and I'm working down the list to check next. Based on other threads I've read, it's likely a spark or fuel issue.

I'm a total novice here, but would appreciate some guidance on next steps in investigating the cause or at least ruling out what it isn't. If it's simple as spark plugs (or at least, relatively simple as these things come) it would probably be something I can address, otherwise I'll need another set of hands - just wanted to do all the checking before I get to that point.

Thanks.

Since the engine is cranking the battery is OK. First step is to check for a spark. Pull off a plug lead, connect to a spare plug, rest plug on engine metal (to get an earth), get someone to crank the motor and look for spark. If you have a good spark then need to look at fuel system: could be fuel pump relay as suggested above.

Thanks both for the feedback. I'm going to check later this week on both items - appreciate it.

Yup, my car started for a split second and died. Fuel pump fuse blew.
