Any latest Camber Plate thoughts/experiences?
Searched and the most recent (2019) camber plate discussion was for KW's which needed modification. I'm looking for camber plates for my DE car (98% use) does anyone have any recommendation? I've looked at offerings by Tarett, Wevo, Elephant any others out there? Thank you

Been using the Taretts forever on several cars, both track and street, and never had an issue. Quality parts with a huge bearing, they don't break or wear out.

Hello Cory do you have sufficient negative camber adjustment with Tarett? Specs I believe provide for another 0.75* neg? My DE car really needs more neg adjustment which is why I went KW initially (up to 2* additional neg is spec). Thank you

Let's post range of adjustment specs
Ive just assembled the rear suspension with 27 T bars, HD rubber spring plate bushings
and Elephant "quick Change spring plates. I will not be tracking the car that much, but am still interested in the range of adjustment, (camber) for the various options. When you have it on the rack, please run a camber min / max and post. I will reward you in one of my later lives. chris |

Hello Chris, I'm focusing on the front camber plates as my DE car (MY'84) does not have enough adjustment as is. My stock rear spring plates do have some incremental neg camber adjustment available. I was hoping for feedback from those that have aftermarket front camber plates (KW, ER, Tarett, Wevo and others I might not be aware of). It seems KW front plates had the most neg adjustment available (-2*) followed by ER Quick Change Camber Plates (-1.25*) and then Tarett (-0.75*). Given the limited neg camber my DE car has and really needs I was looking for max available adjustment and owner experiences. All the best (in this life)

The racecars I've used them on all have additional mods for more camber because they are running race tires that need over -3 degrees (decambered spindles, longer arms, 935 suspension, etc). I think the plates alone will be a max of -2. An adjustable strut brace allows you to crank in more camber, offset ball joints might help too. Mods to struts and arms require fabrication and are more costly.

Thank you Cory really appreciate your insight. I was hoping to make incremental changes as to not upset the suspension system. If camber plates do not provide what is required longer A-arms have been considered. My process is to see if I can get additional neg camber from plates and seeing as I'm DE'ing and not looking for the last 10th sec I would be satisfied. It does seem as though a few sets of camber plates have been sold into the population. Was again hoping experiences with ER, Tarett or whomever would be discussed. Did your Tarett plates initially meet you expectations with regard to adjustment or lead you to further mods? Thank you again for you reply.

The racecars tend to have wholesale changes, rather than incremental adjustments. The struts or arms were modified at the same time. So I don't really have an impression of the plates alone. I know my Tarett plates have been bomb-proof after many years of hard use, but if you are running race tires and need more camber than they can provide you might need additional mods or different plates. You should call Ira at Tarett, he can give you better info on the maximum adjustment of his plates, I think 1.5-2 degrees is the limit.

I'm using the Elephant Quick Change camber plates. I did not check max range, but I'm currently set at 1.4* neg and there is a small amount of adjustment left.

You'll want to run -1.5/1.75 degree camber in the front and -1 degree in the rear for a DE car, unless you're driving a GT car on the track. AMHIK.... Of course there are a lot of variables with your suspension geometry too. Start there as a base line to get started and try different settings till it feels right.
