This is my last hail-mary effort to find a local finisher before I try and do it myself...I'm struggling to find anyone near Hollywood that'll take a box of greasy/rusty parts and then give them back to me gleaming in exchange for money. Maybe I'm searching for the wrong terms, or maybe Yelp sucks, or maybe there just aren't any. The gun shops don't seem to want to blast/clean, the wheel shops don't seem to want to do a dozen small parts, the paint shops seem to want to do whole cars only.
I'm unwilling to ship things to Tru6. It's too much time, hassle, and isn't very practical for things such as subframes. I'd rather not drive an hour every time either, but I'm willing to stretch a bit here. So. Anyone know someone that does good finishing work in this area? Don't make me learn a new skill; I already have too much seldom-used gear! |

I haven't used one, but did speak to these guys:
Los Angles Cerakote https://cerakotefirearms.com 2A Concepts - Cerakote Coating in Orange County and Los Angeles https://www.freedomcerakote.com You will find a lot of them who specialize in firearms, but take other work. |

My recommendation is to have them sandblasted and cleaned up first. Powder coating is relatively easy provided you have an oven big enough. Cerakote is also not to hard but lots & lots of cleaning.

That's why Tru6 has so much business. There are very few people to do the job correctly. Many people, including me, find that out when they take their parts to a generic plater, powdercoater, etc. Lost hardware, damaged pieces, gummed up threads, over acid dipped plated parts (lost tolerances). Our shop ended up buying the tools to do it but most people don't want to spend 10's of thousands on restoration materials.
