930 flares going on a 964 question..
Putting steel flares on a 964. The profile is slightly different which leaves the top of the arch on the 930 flares slightly lower that the 964 arch. Normal profile? It also spears the the front and tears will need trimming on the door side of each to fit the 964 rocker profile. Anyone have any advice or experience with this!
Thanks Pelicans!

I’ve done a few of these.. it depends on if you will be still using the factory 964 rocker panels. If I remember correctly, they fit into an indent that is not there on the 930 flares. ( 964/ 965 have no torsion bar holes ) . The upper flare/wheel arch profile should be relatively the same, but you will have to modify the front lower lips of the flare.

A couple of these issues I’m having are; the rockers are about 2” too long. This can be fixed, but it feels a bit odd they are that far off. Also... I plan on using the method of screwing the flare on then cutting through both and butt welding from the top of the flare to the bottom on each side. What I’m trying to figure out is how you account for the “step” where the two bumper flanges overlay each other. What I had considered was bent the flare flange down slightly while bending the existing flange (on the car) up. The hope would be that doing so would give me extra room to match the flare up flush. Any thoughts on how to account for this would be appreciated. The other option would be t cut the flange off the car. I’m not as worried about the extra 1/2 inch the flares would come down because I know there if for sure a slightly different profile. I just want to ensure that everything ties together straight. Thanks

Also need to solve for the flange between the bumper and the body, front and rear. Since the flare is laying over the top of the original, I’m the flare is lower on the body in the amount oh the thickness of the metal. If I screwed it on and cut my weld line through both pieces the new flare would be mounted lower than it should be. Any thoughts would be appreciated ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

Hard to tell from the pics, but judging from the last pic, it looks like you need to raise the center of the flare higher and then rotate forward a tiny bit. Or maybe move the entire flare backwards a bit? That should get rid of the gap in the rocker panel. Sorry, would have to see it person to figure this out, but either way, looks like you will have to trim some excess off of somewhere.

Still fighting this....
Hey Marc!
Do you have any source for measurement? I’ve been searching high and low with no luck. Thanks!
