Carpet for “83 911 SC

Time to re carpet my SC the RS carpet I put in 15 years ago is showing it’s age. Who has re- carpeted and which of the several kits on the market do you recommend . Back seats are gone and roll bar in the back
Thanks

Hello,

Welcome to the forum! It is customary to post a photo of your car when you first join- two reasons, one is then you have to figure out how to post a photo which is good to know for getting better help and second- we all love to see pictures of Porsches.

I have used World Upholstery and been very happy- I think Pelican sells them or you can buy direct if you have a special need, which sounds like you may need custom fitting for the back.

as requested as with anything this car project just grew. Ive owned this '83 Euro spec Sc for 15 years and it has been a constant upgrade project. A disassemble and repaint in original Gran Prix white with stripes under the clear coat several years ago. Suspension includes turbo tie rods, front upper strut brace, upgrades torsion bars with matching custom valved Bilstein shocks. Adjustable sway bars front and rear. Boxster brakes. Engine custom re-built by an ex factory trained engine g, the 3.0 stroked to 3.2 balanced and upgraded cams. (CIS will soon be replaced by PMO carbs). Transmission rebuilt with WEVO shifter and custom machined bushings. A Guard locking limited slip. RS interior with Recaro Pole position seats and welded roll bar. Im sure i have forgotten somethings. A true pleasure to drive
By the way no A/c etc

Beautiful car!

Before you invest in carbs, you might look at EFI- PMO makes throttle bodies for EFI too.

I’ll answer both questions, have RS and since my neck does not allow me to track anymore I want ( wife wants) something with a little more sound proofing plus we want a blue and that limits our choices. As to the carbs vs EFI , I have discussed both with my engine guy ( he spent four years building engines at the factory in the late sixties and early seventies so he knows this engine and he rebuilt it) he is leaning towards the 46 mm PMOs because of the cam grind he put in ets but we are not ruling out EFI

I will answer both questions, have RS and want to to something a little nicer and quieter since neck damage will not let me track any more. Other consideration is we want blue and that narrows the choices.
As to PMO carbs vs EFI I have discussed that with my engine guy who built my engine ( he learned his trade in the late 60’s in the Porsche factory engine shop) he is leaning towards 46 mm carbs based on the cam grind he put in etc but we have not made a firm decision yet

I replaced the carpet in my 85 Carrera this Spring. Used OEM specification Porsche Sliverknit velour in Dark Blue from Lakewell. Matches the original for my car. Very happy with the refresh. Excellent product. --Dave

I had my carpet replaced earlier this year with square weave. It looks like a million bucks.

I’d go with blue German square weave.
