pertronix?
Well, you don't say which points replacement you are using ....or which MSD unit you have....so, i'll guess it's a Pertronix Ignitor and an MSD6Al...although the MSD Streetfire should wire up the same........

I have a MSD 6A and the same manual, and have used the one you posted, but no spark? when i use old contacts, this works?

Better check your wiring again..if it's hooked up like this, it works....assuming your pertronix is working .. Another thing to check is the Pertronix Magnet ring and make sure it is fully seated on the rotor shaft and that the gap is set properly.

check for spark.
if you have spark you may have to retime the ignition. try checking the timing while cranking mount the coil right side up, not upside down like factory if you are using the MSD coil. if you use clewette wires have him make you a longer coil wire with a 90 on the coil end. also have him put numbers on both ends of the wires if you order a set. I preferred the points on my 77 when I had MSD on it. |
No spark and i use MSD coil that is made to sit upside down. Only spark when i use old contacts?
