UK Pelicans - Husbourne Crawley Autojumble

Yes it's that time of year again!

The Husbourne Crawley Porsche autojumble is on the 26th April. It has been suggested that we all try and meet up on the M1 (maybe around junction 8), then shoot up there in convoy.

M1 Junction 8 will suit anyone travelling north from London/M25, perhaps anyone travelling south would like to organise to meet up somewhere else (maybe M1 J16?)

Anyway here's a copy of the ad (for last years), it's got directions and contact number:

I suggest we get an early start, as any bargains tend to go quickly. Last year there were some youngsters selling a couple of targa tops for £50 each, I thought blimey that's cheap and walked off to have a think about buying them. 5 minutes later I went back and they had been bought by one of the other traders

Anyone interested?

Cheers

Tim is right. A lot of the gear is traded between traders, goes up 10% and back on sale. I sold a set of Fuchs rims to a guy last year, wandered around and saw them on another stand 10 minutes later.

I plan to get there for 9.00 and will have some gear for sale.

I've never been before because it has clashed with other events (Le Mans Classic, etc) but by all accounts it is a good event as well as a social gathering.

I'm planning on going and will aim for an early start. We (region 10) have a stall booked. Once I have had a good look around to make sure I don't miss any bargains I'll probably go home (less than 5 miles away!) to pick up the family, bring them back and have lunch at the White Horse - weather permitting.

If anyone buys anything too big to take home immediately then I'm happy to have them stored at mine until transportation can be arranged.

Count me in, just name the time and place and I'll meet anyone beforehand, the earlier the better.

Hi Nick,

The offer would still stand, even for a car.

Was the 356 for sale by Gantspeed? I saw it at the Cornbury house function and was tempted at £3.5k. I have heard of another more recently for sale at £8.5k

See you at Husborne Crawley - in your BMW touring (lots of space for goodies)?

Mac

That was the same 356. The Cornbury House Autojumble was a good affair, I wonder whether they will do it again. I squeezed a pair of wings, front and rear bompers and various other biy and pieces into the BMW then.

Who is going from the south? Jakes, Tim, me. Any more?

I would like to go but won't be able to make it all the way down there. Any other good Porsche auto jumbles worth going to?

Anyone considering a long drive to Husborne Crawley might want to find somewhere to stay over and then make a weekend of it by going to the Air-cool day at Duxford - bikes, cars, planes!

Hey Tim (aircooled), i was one of those youngsters selling the 2 targa tops really cheap! You should've bought it when you had the chance!
How about £150 for a complete set of 1995 964 calipers with only 24k miles on them

Nick's right about the traders buying all the good stuff early, 75% of the bits i sold when to traders within the first half hour of being there.

I'll be there but buying not selling this time

JPH83, have you finished your SC project yet, i.e. are you going to take it on that Saturday.

I really want to see your car in the flesh

Cheers Jakes

OK Guys,

Does anyone know the name of a service station (I guess between J8 & J9) that we can meet at?

Cheers

Theres a few "little chefs" and such at J8.

Edit.. No more little chef at J8

Holiday Inn and BP service station.
So depends on how fancy you like your bacon sarnies.
