I recently pulled my motor and since I will be repainting the car eventually, I have thought about re-spraying the engine compartment. The only problem is that I am not sure what color I will eventually paint the car. So, my questions are this:
Is there any other option for the finish aside from paint? Is there some type of undercoating material that is heat resistant, looks good, is easy to clean up, and easy to apply? Thanks, any advice would be appreciated!! |

The body color always looks like a well thought out alternative. Not sure if you need to clear coat over the base color with a high temp paint to prevent blistering. Black might come in as a close second. I prefer the body color.

I like paint for easy clean up, heat resistance and ease of application. As far as colors go, assuming you're not a stickler for originality, some use an accent color on their wheels, decals, bumpers, wheel wells, mirrors and the like. I see no reason why you couldn't use a favorite neutral color in the engine bay and pick it up descretely elsewhere on the car. the Carrera script comes to mind with color coordinated wheels and engine bay. Just my penny thought. |
