Sunroof hangup

Help, Does anyone know a source for DIY sunroof repair. The sunroof on my 90 C2 hangs up on one side(driver's) when closing. I have to help it along with my hand. It will close on its own, but there is a 1/2 - 1 inch gap on the driver's side corner of the roof. Any suggestions!!! ( I need to fix it before I sell it!) Thanks Bob

Sounds like you might have a cable that has gone bad. Not that hard to change.

What I would do is unzip the headliner, and have a pick in there while someone else operated the roof. Once you remove the cover piece in there, you should be able to see whats happening in there.

Matt,

Did you mean pull back the sunroof headliner? Under the zipper is the sunroof motor/transmission and I'd think you'd be taking things apart before you could tell what's up. If you just unclip and slide back the headliner, you can see the front guide and the rear cable mounts easily. Takes only a few minutes to get the sunroof out.

I agree that it's a cable. Pretty easy repair, well documented in 101 Projects and on this site. Just be careful not to scratch your paint.

Chris.
