Front strut tower sealant
I am removing my struts to replace with cartridges but the sealant at the top of the tower looks like crap what is the best thing to use here to make them look good. Is it there just to stop water entry?

Shorty,
I just restore the standard look by resealing with paintable bitumen like: https://www.repco.com.au/en/car-care-panel/paint/specialty-paints/repco-sound-deadener-brush-on-1ltr-rsdbo1l/p/A9445424 |

Thanks for your help - how does it look as mine is like a really smooth almost polished look finish.

Brush on a generous thickness, it hardens to a smooth finish, just like the original.

I closed off all the open spaces with closed-cell foam cut from a sheet. You don't really need a whole bunch.
