911 Valve adjust ?

I adjusted the valves on my 1977 2.7 911 this afternoon.
I'm new to this so I need some help.
I adjusted the vlaves in order using the Wayne book 101 things...
anyway, I noticed that after adjusting the valves that some would feel looser than they feel when that specific piston was at TDC. I.E. I noticed that the #4 and 6 felt loose when I was adjusting the #5 even though I had the right clearance on the #4 and the #6 when I adjusted them earlier in the process. Is this normal for a cylinder's valves to feel loose at certain times in the cycle?
