SeaSucker | Vacuum Mounting Systems Bike Mount

Just saw this bike mounting system in a post and wondered if anyone else is using this and how well it works on their 911. They are based in Palmetto Fl down near Bradenton. SeaSucker | Vacuum Mounting Systems

I've been using mine for about a year now, no issues. I can find a way to make it work on every car I own, minus wife's wrangler with hardtop (to much texture)

Thanks for the pics mikeferg75. Would you be hesitant to put those cups on any of the painted surfaces of your p-car? I'd think using the rear cup only on the paint would be the safest bet and the triple on the glass.

Well, yes and no...

New clear coat cars I have not had a problem. Older single stage P cars I would not, I did on the targa on a hot day, and the single rear wheel suction cup left an impression on the engine lid. (I had it flipped around from the pic)

This is a really great solution - I also like that there are no permanent fixtures to be stolen should you park outside (had it happen to my Honda).

I'm not that knowledgeable about paint systems porsche used but presuming an 87 in GP white would have been a two stage paint?

What sort of impression did you get on the rear lid? Did it come off with some washing & buffing?

It left the exact impression of the inside of the suction cup, there are some ridges wording ect... It has never done that to any other vehicle I've used it on.

Dunno if my 89 is two stage or not, but it had been in the near 100 degree sun all day when I attached the suction cup...

It's still very very slightly visible under the right lighting, I just hit it with some hand wax, but I am sure if I used a wheel and cutting wax It would be 100 gone.

Yes, and I should add not certain if original paint on the tail... It works better anyhow as pictured, rear tire sits nicely in the targa latch cradle, and one bungee holds it in place to pass seat.

I have not yet mounted it on my 75 Carrera coupe.

The bike will move around more in the wind ect than a conventional rack, but I have been above legal highway speeds and in the twisties at speed and have not had the bike come off yet Or loose suction during transport. I always remove it at the trail head anyway for fear of somebody just taking it...

I know this thread is from forever ago, but how did you secure the tire from moving between the targa bar and windshield?

I just gifted my twins a suction-based roof rack (Rockbros, not Seasucker) and it works perfectly. Unfortunately for us, one of the vehicles we own has a panoramic roof and the local dealer told us not to put it on the panoramic roof as it could potentially become misaligned and they don't have the proper tools to adjust the panoramic roof.

I see tons of users putting these on Teslas and other all glass roofs.

I ordered one that's showing up today to use on my Targa so that my road bike doesn't take up the entire back seat and I can have the choice of other bikes. Bonus is that it will work on one or two of my other cars, too.

That's the way i saw it... i bought both the bike rack and the ski rack. instead of buying yet another thule rack for whatever flavor of car i have for a daily atm, this can just go from one to the next. done.

I know these have been around for years and work. But the idea of using suction cups to secure my mountain bike on the freeway still freaks me out.

My racing bike costs enough that I'll spring for the Thule tall drip rail clamps ($250) if I need to transport more than my own bike. If I'm on my own I can fit it into the back and frunk... bonus is no bugs on the bike that way. I just can't trust those suction cup devices even if they do work...
