Rear wiper speed 1988 CArrera

Hi
Wondering if anyone can assist....I have a 3.2 1988 ROW Carrera. The rear wiper runs, and parks fine, but I think that it sweeps too quickly. Is it possible that the motor is not working correctly, whether the diode is contributing, or if it’s just mechanical dustmen that is needed to slow it down
Thanks!

I think the rear wiper on my '84 took maybe 1.5 seconds at most to complete a sweep. I never left it running for more than a sweep or two. In fact, I considered replacing the switch with a momentary switch so that I could just give it a push for a single sweep on demand.
