Help with Washer Reservoir Mounting '72

Hi Everyone,

I need to weld in the bracket for my 72 windshield washer reservoir. I'm having difficulty finding some pics on the forum. I'm not sure if I even have the right bracket and reservoir.

Here are my questions...

1. My questions first is where do I mount the bracket.

2. Is this the right bracket?

3. How is the reservoir secured in place? It can slide left and right in the bracket. What locks it into place?

4. How fare out of the latch panel hole should the spout stick out?

*** Any pictures you could post would be very helpful.

Thank you,

Rodney

Please see the pics below:

Hi Rodney,

Yes you have the correct bracket and reservoir. It's held in place by the rubber grommet around the spout and the bracket. I can't help with a picture or measurement but might check later this week when I'm at the shop if you haven't found out by then.

Thank you. Yes, I did NOT know about a rubber grommet. So, It is not bolted down, just held in place with those two things.

My other problem is that I have my 911 on a rotisserie, so I'm probably going to have to level it to set it up right...

A picture would be awesome.

Hopefully someone else will chime in and post one.

Thanks again,

Rodney

Rodney, no picture since I no longer have access to a '73.5 T my friend sold last year. (My own '72T is a factory A/C car, so the reservoir doesn't mount there.)

I can say that the filler neck should only protrude just far enough to allow the cap to seal on and clear the latch panel and grommet. There is a bit of leeway in that, could protrude up to 1/2" more without interfering with the hood, I believe.
