Anyone In Albuquerque?
I ordered the carrera tensioner kit from PP this afternoon (Javier was helpful, btw). Assuming the parts get here in time, I plan on tackling the project this weekend. Although patient & good at following directions, I'm still pretty inexperienced when it comes to doing this work (though I'm learning fast).
This leads to three questions. First... are there any Pelicanheads in the Albuquerque, NM area? Second... are there any who would be interested in dropping by to say hello or offer advice? Of course, I would arrange to provide burgers & the adult beverages of your choice. Third... does anyone have any advice or wisdom to offer regarding my first `major' project? Thanks-- Rob

Rob: I'm in Albuquerque, and could be coerced to come by to give moral support although I am not too mechanically inclined, only on simpler things. My car, during an engine rebuild about 20K miles ago, had the tensioners replaced and adjusted, but still are the original type. I figure I'm good with those for a while.

I appreciate it. I'll be in touch later in the week, after I confirm the parts will be showing up in time for the weekend. Experienced or not, I could always use a bit of moral support.
![]() Of course, the idea of having more than one P-car parked in my driveway is pretty appealing, too.
