Recaro knob replacement

The knob got damaged in shipping. How do you remove the knob?

It looks like installation is push on until it snaps into place.

I may look to rob a knob off of another seat so understanding how to remove it without damaging the knob would be helpful.

Is there anyone that is reproducing these? The application is a later sport seat on a G body car.

I don’t think hardly any Recaro plastic parts for the older seats are available. I need some for the Classic C’s.

Do you have an example of a good one? You might be able to find someone to 3-D scan it and print another one.

That’s what I was afraid of. I can farm one off of another seat but robbing Paul to pay Peter is a last resort.

Any idea how to get them
Off without destroying the knob?

I can’t answer the removal question.

If you rotate the plastic knob clockwise while the metal tab is held in place it will move a inch or so and release. there 3 are raised plastic stops in the plastic ring where the metal tab holds it in place. you can see in the pic where if you do the rotation it will slip off. wd40 may help and a flat head screwdriver and rubber mallet. This is how I replaced mine. I found the replacement on eBay

One of mine was damaged in shipping also. I got a replacement from Aardvark Racing.

Thanks all for the tips. I found the exact knob for these seats. While it was not cheap I have a matching knob and I didn’t have to rob from another set of seats.
